ear wigs creep me the fvck out! spiders only creep me out because i can't tell the difference between the bad and good ones (wolf/brown recluse etc)

EWWW!!! There's a house centipede? sick man! I want them outside under rocks where I knwo I won't run into them. my condelences to you

I used to have a Chinese Water Dragon and I had to feed it these. It turned me off to long, multi-legged, crawling bugs forever. Ewww. They used to escape from the container we kept them in while waiting to feed them and occasionally I'd find one around the house. They were larvae for some kind of beetle, and one actually lived long enough at my house to turn into the beetle. Then it died.

My least favorite "bug" that I see on a regular basis.
ok, that's a weird looking centipeed you got there. may want to check for radon around your house, lol. I think most centipeeds look liek this:

you think wrong
No, he's right.

I hate spiders more than centipedes of any variety. Generally, the quicker they can scurry or hop about, the more I dislike them!

I'll link to it again... house centipede

Both you and mdchesne linked to a variety of CENTIPEDE. Each body segment has a pair of legs, as opposed to a millipede, which has two pairs per segment and move slowly. They also have no venim.

I saw one of those once. Ran really fast across the hall when i turned on a light. I took my shoe and bashed his brains out. Do they have brains?

Ok... so you're not agreeing that I should have my house checked for radon?

mdchesne says I have a mutated centipede... Anubis says he's wrong... then you say that mdchesne is right.

Now you say it's a "CENTIPEDE".... ok.... yeah.... wtf are you talking about? I know both pics shown are centipedes. What's your point?

House centipedes also have venom according to the wikipedia article.

EDIT: Did you mean millipedes have no venom?

Most centipedes DO look like the one he linked to, which is why yours has a separate designation. Only centipedes have venom.

Had a ton of the pictured things (called house centipedes, for reference) in my old house. I didn't exactly like them, but on the other hand I didn't really mind them. They're fast as greased lightning hehe. Actually, before they took over, there were a lot of wolf spiders in the house - those I'm petrified of. I'm arachnophobic. On the comic, I dunno, maybe it's WoW-related?

do they bite/ sting/ cause pain? maybe they do something beneficial for us, like eat baby flies and spiders
House Centipedes can bite/cause pain, but they only do it defensivly.

They do indeed eat spiders, so I let them stay around.

Personally, I would prefer the spiders. Most spiders will stay seclueded in their webs, happily eating anything that comes along. Centipedes will move around and become a nuisance. I think the beggist house centipede I've seen is about 3 in long, about 1.5 cm wide including legs. Discovered at about 3:00 am when my sister (whos room is right next to mine) screamed. It had ended up right next to her hed when she woke up.

Ok, I'm glad the joke isn't obvious and I'm just not getting it.

Is it a really bad and confusing joke about having to buy a lot of shoes maybe?
