How much do Car Tags cost in your state?

We have to renew our tags once a year. I just got my notice today and paid it online. Freaking' 224.61! That is such a rip off to have to pay that EVERY year. Then again, we have some of the lowest property taxes in the nation.

Depends on the type and value of the vehicle. I think my car is something like $70.

in NY it's based on the type & weight of the vehicle.

Mine was $50 and will last 3 years.

My tags were around $85.00 this year.

Alabama may have some of the lowest property taxes in the nation but the rest of the tax code is just horrible.

Heh. Yeah, but our property tax and income tax rates suck. And now Multnomah county (Portland) wants to add a county income tax of 1.25% :|

edit: on top of our existing state income tax of 9% :|
