I have a set of Shure e3c canalphones and a Bitwise headphone amp.

How do you like the HD280 Pro? I like the e3c for portable use, but they are hard to listen to for a long time whie I'm at work. I want to get a set for work. Any other suggestions other than the HD280?

Nice. How do you like those?

Shure H2C
I love them, they are either horribly accurate or wonderfully accurate depending on the mix, it's kind of annoying because flaws are pretty apparent. The sound isolation is something else too.

Sennheiser HD580 a number of years ago for $199. I have an amp for them as well. The listening experience is just pure bliss. :)

What is your source?

SPDIF out to a HK AVR 110. It's a bit entry-level but it was a hand me down from a relative and it sounds great to my ears, so I can't complain.

My next set will probably be a set of molded Westones in-ears, but they run $500 .. so it'll be a while.
You'll probably want the Sensophonics instead. :)

got both newm use the 80s on comp and portable devices, 225s on my home stereo

and I WISH i could afford a headphone amp
I use to have the SR-80's but they were stolen.:|

Most reviews I read on the SR-225's say they need an amp. How do they compare to the SR-80's without an amp?

Anybody have the Sennheiser Orpheus? Wanted to demo them, but sadly I don't have any sources that would take advantage of that capability.

Edit: I am aware they cost $14,000, but they must be somewhat decent to cost about the same as a Honda Civic.

My $10 Koss headphones work just fine. I don't understand people and their obsession with headphones.

My denon reciever + 5.1 JBLs > your headphones

have you even tried properly amplified hd-580? 5.1 is unneeded for music, i dont understand people's obssesion with those. you cant beat headphones bang for buck. you will need at least few more grands for that.

oh yeah btw, my $30 aura aspect speakers work just fine.
