Got my GF4Ti4600 for $411 shipped the day it hit the market. The same day, I had a P4 1.6a Northwood and mobo to match ordered for just over $300. From there, I just used the old parts from my previous box. 🙂

hard to say.

my "starter set" (re: budget pc) probably cost 1K, but that was almost two years ago. since then, I've been constantly upgrading it piece by piece. the only thing that I have in my computer now that was in it 2 years ago is the floppy drive 😉
 
About $1500 over the last 14 months, but I already had some of the components & I got some as gifts, so it's probably worth around $2000. Check my sig for teh rig.
