How much did you spend on your Honeymoon?

We have about $3000 in cash put away for the honeymoon and can easily add couple grand more but we have yet to decide where to go.

What a good place for Honeymoon in January ?

I took my wife home to meet the folks in Ireland...

We spent roughly $6000CDN, including airfare, flat rental for the 8 days, spending money and two nights in a hotel in downtown Dublin at the corner of Grafton and Stephen's Green

Depends on what you're looking for. Sun? Romantic getaway? Sand? Adventure? Skiing? Gotta have some idea what you're looking for.

My fiancee and I just booked a 6 night vac in Playa Del Carmen - the former fishing village and fastest growing small town in Mexico - right next to Cancun and Cozumel. Beautiful caribbean atmosphere without the high prices.

Why spend 3-4k in Hawaii or the Carib to get the same sun and sand in Florida when you can spend less and get the Chitzen Itza ruins and the eco-parks and the crystal clear waters of Cozumel all in one? We paid 1300 for roundtrip from Chicago and six nights in a nice hotel. We'll eat out every night and its cheap! I'm looking to spend about 2k total. Beat that. 🙂

I had the exact amount tallied at one point. I think it was in the vicinity of $1000. We drove thousands of miles, stayed at my grandma's condo on the beach in Florida (while she was visiting my family after the wedding), etc. All of that saved a bundle for us. We did stay in a few hotels, and go to some museums, and entertainment parks. Plus we didn't skimp on the shopping or the dining.

Our 1 year anniversary is where we splurged - 2 months trip to Germany for just over $2000 including airfare.

But don't use my numbers. I'm a cheapskate. I do lots of work to get quality stuff for next to nothing. Most people don't take the time or effort to do so. I would tripple my numbers for those people.

~$2000 for a week in Door County, WI. Included B&B, meals, and stuff we bought in the shops. I recommend it in the winter, because its more a romantic getaway than it is a tourist area.

I'm not sure.

Flight from Milwaukee to San Francisco and back.
Rental car for a week and a half.
Hotel in San Fran, Monterey, Lake Tahoe, and San Fran again.

Probably a few grand I would guess. never added it up.

We drove up to the mountains and stayed in a nice resort for 3 or 4 days. We didn't spend a lot for it, maybe a thousand??

$3000 on a trip to Disneyworld.

For some dumb reason, I like to read all of the wedding annoucements in Sunday's paper. The honeymoons that some couples are taking must be INCREDIBLY expensive -- like $10,000 or more. :Q

Probably less than $1000. We went to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week.

BTW, as of last Friday, I have been married 10 years.

My wife and I went to Cancun for our honemoon. I think it cost us around $3k when all was said and done (including airfare, hotel, food and rental car).

We had a great time there and I would love to return. If you go there I highly recommend that you rent a jeep and drive to see some of the Mayan ruins in the ares. Tulum is about an hour south of Cancun and right on the water and Chichen Itza is about an hour inland.

Congrats. I have you beat though. It will be 12 years in September for my wife and I. :wine:

Well we have not gone on our honeymoon yet (we are getting married in August). But here is what we are doing. With links to each hotel.

3 days in Los Angeles

8 days in Hawaii Pacific Beach Hotel

7 Whitsunday Islands (of the cost of Australia) Peppers Palm Bay

4 days Sydney Australia The Grace Hotel

3 days Tahiti Le Meridien Tahiti

4 days Bora Bora Le Meridien Bora Bora

The best part is she doesn?t know we are going first class or that we are going to Tahiti and Bora Bora. I just can?t wait to see her reaction when we get to the airport to go back to the US and she finds out we are going to Tahiti and Bora Bora.

If someone would like to guess at the cost and comes within 10% i will spill the beans.

that's some honeymoon you got planned there. Much better than traditional Hawaii. ... and I thought that took a lot of planning... 2 islands and all...

So how much are you paying for all that ?

You have to give it a guess first.

Well, my rate was a little better then that I paid 485 per night for a premium over the water bungalow.
