How much did Seinfeld pay for the suede jacket with the candy stripe lining?

I thought it was something like $1000. Of course, that's just my opinion; I could be wrong. 😉

I believe they eluded to that when Kramer was pestering Jerry about it, but he just showed him the tag, he didn't say exactly.

George said "if you don't say anything in the next 5 seconds I'll know you paid more than $1000." Jerry just stood there smirking. Do they even make $1000 Suede jackets? Good lord, I think $100 is a lot.

i think it was implied over 1000.

BTW, that reminds me of conan o'briens harvard speech where he tell stories about wilsons house of suede and leather

Oh hell yes...

So, why is it Jerry has enough money to buy $1000 jacket, a new Saab 900, and a Cadillac for his parents, yet still lives in that tiny apartment, with all the other bums that live there?

The whole system is braking down!

btw someone hook me up with a link to a $1000+ suede jacket. 🙂

Because if he lived anywhere else it wouldn't be funny! 🙂

He's a single guy living in manhatten how big of an aprtment do you need.

And Jerry is constantly loosing money all those trips to florida fixing the cadilac buying it in the first place, rebuying it back, loosing it to the accountant, bad stocks, jacket, lending stuff to kramer which he breaks, sofas, remodeling apartment then returning it to same as before, Saab car, and probably a bunch more I can't remember.

This episode was just on last night...

I belive George's dialog went something like this

George: "How much did you pay for this jacket?"
George: "Tell me you didn't pay $300 for this jacket"
Jerry *silent smirk*
George: "$400? Did you pay $400 for this jacket"
George: "Five---Hund-dred. You paid $500 for this jacket didn't you"
Jerry: *silence*
George: "Wait a second, are you trying to tell me you spent $700 for this jacket?!"
George: "Your a sick sick man"

You obviously don't know the rental rates in Manhattan, do you? For the rent on an Apt the size of Jerry's in Manhattan you could make the payments on a 3000 SF luxury house in the burbs of VA.

Yeah, I thought of that, but he's gotta live in a low rent apartment, because Babu the Pakistani immigrant lived in the same buidling, and Kramer (who's indefinitely unemployed) lives across the hall. Also Newman the postal worker, and that guy with the bird, no way any of them could afford an expensive Manhatten apartment.

:Q:Q:Q:Q OMG... but at least it's reversible, Jerry could've used that. 😉

Thanks for the link, that's insane, I'm still :Qing.

He he I am sure I could have found a more expensive one but that is what i found on Yahoo shopping because it was the easiest.

I think the amount of the jacket is hidden in the episode. I’ll explain..
Shortly after George starts going off about how much the jacket cost, Jerry starts talking about Cramer’s sense of time. He says something like ‘if Kramer had time his way, he would live until he is over 2000.’ This was in the same very scene that George was asking about the cost. Therefore I think because of this, and because of the intelligence of the show, the jacket was over $2000.
