$75 if I recall. It's been a few years.

Edit- the SPCA will do it for about $60 I believe (here in Baltimore at least).

I know a mobile clinic in central texas that'll neuter dogs for $32. If you are interested in lower prices call your local vets, shelters and do a google search to see about discounts or clinics.

If it were a cat, well then, I could tell you how to do it with a blanket, razorblade, and a syringe of antibiotics.

Check with your local animal shelter. They usually have a list of vets that do that kinda stuff for cheap...prolly not as cheap as 6 bucks, but somewhere at least under a hundred.

got an M80 from Hank for free.

seriously. A private vet will be more pricey...however; for that price your pet should recieve a bit better treatment than the spay/neuter joints that pump them out.

At a private vet your pet will have better post-op treatment too, problems do occur.

I took my 3 boy kitties in to the same vet I interned with and is also the director/head vet of our city zoo. I have referred at least a dozen animals to him that were labeled to be put to sleep...he saved them all.

The cost for the 3 of them to be neutered/declawed and get a set of injections was about $620. Three months prior I paid $140 for all three to be initialled screened and innoculated against all the kitty diseases...if I skipped the feline aids/leukemia I could have saved about $40-50.

All three were very active and ready to play when they came home...so much so that same day I had to take one back due to him opening up the sutures on his paw jumping from the top of my bookcases.

I have witnesses a lot of animals from simple neuters/spays and declaws having long recovery times due to shoddy operating practices.

My local clinic wants about $700+ after tests & all, to spay the two dogs here. The aspca quoted us just under $500. We were going to do it at the beginning of the year, but they're on/off with their periods all the time. They all want to gouge us for shots, more bloodwork, immunizations. I'm very fustrated.

Going rate around here is $70 + $15 for a pain shot. Think spaying is around $90-$120 its a bit harder to do.
