..the cleanup would take years and property value for hundreds of miles around would be near worthless..and the economy of the US would go into a tailspin. The psycological impact would be many times worse then the actual damage. We would no longer be a safe haven.

For those how don't know, there were a number of MOABs dropped in the gulf war. (latest gulf war) Most were dropped before the invasion of Baghdad.

Also, if you look hard enough, you can find some great footage of nuclear bomb testing. I have some underground, artillary and other videos. I even found a video of a nuke detonation to test steel reinforced bank vault.

Bombs are terribly indiscriminate.

Yeah, we use tactical nuclear devices all the time.(cleaner,lower-yield)

Also, has anyone heard of the capabilities of "Rods from God"? These are Uranium-238 coated tungsten rods approximately 20 ft long that are "dropped" from satellites and are GPS guided. They can hit within 20 ft of any object and are accelerated to hypersonic speeds. Any thing near it in the atmosphere becomes plasma, and it vaporizes anything near impact. What I'm wondering about, is what would be it's equivalent (in megatons) when compared to a nuclear device.

Eh?
The MOAB is NOT a tactical nuke, it is just an ordinary bomb, albeit very big.
Tactical nukes have NEVER been used in war.

I know that the MOAB is a fuel-air bomb, and tactical nukes (no mushroom cloud underground bunker busters) were used during the first gulf war

Care to cite any evidence for that?

The original bunker busters were basically just artillery tubes with a guideance package in front and fins in the rear. During testing they could penetrate at least 100 ft. of earth.

There were no nuclear bombs detonated in either gulf war.
