I don't lift weights, so I imagine it is pretty wimpy.

One of my better friends here max's about 285 though. He is pretty small too... about 5'5" and 150lbs or so.

170 max

I'm 6'4" and I weigh ~175. I can do 8 reps @ 160 and 10 reps at anything below that. I could probably bench more, but I haven't tried.

When I was 17 I could do 3 sets of 12 at 185. The third set was a struggle, but the first two were easy. I don't know now though, but I don't bench much anymore. Mostly leg press, abs and cardio. Rowing doesn't use the chest all that much.

I stopped working with weights a few months ago, took myself off the Ripped Fuel, switched to all pushups, crunches, chinups, etc. and increased my running by a lot...

<< Well, this guy can bench 300lbs and he weighs 180lbs. >>

are u joking? he looks quite a bit heavier than 180 lbs.....
>>

No, that is what his book says. He may have gained some weight since that was written, but if you look at him standing he looks the same as he did when he wrote the book. The guy can break cocoanuts with his bare fists, so I'm not the slightest bit surprised that he can bench 300lbs at 180lbs.

So what's the obsession most every lifter seems to have with the bench press? Seems to me it's not one the most functional exercises you can do in the weight room....the only time I ever find myself using the motion of a bench press is well......when I'm doing a bench press.
Back in my lifting days I weighed 170 and benched 190(10 reps...dunno the real max), which wasn't bad considering I didn't do it for very long before schoolwork stood in the way of exercise.

Doing 4 reps at 315lbs right now(havn't tried max). I'm 5'11", 210lbs.
I'm 23yrs old now. Max benched ever was 365lbs back when I was 19. Weighed about 205lbs then. Had a couple injuries in the years since then that have set me back(back and pec tear). Fun stuff when ya get to the heavier weight. I'm on my 4th month of workingout straight now since returning from a year layoff from the pec tear. Fun how fast you gain it all back if you have a solid past of lifting.

I did 6 reps of 225 yesterday. My goal is to do 10 reps. Once I hit that I won't be pushing myself anymore. I'm 6'0", 183lbs.

315 for 5 reps is the heaviest I will go. I'm 6'1" 225 and have been lifting consistantly for over 15 years. I prefer heavy flies or wide grip weighted dips for pecs as of lately. I'm nearing my mid 30's.

<< I was wondering since i'm going to the gym a lot recently because I have lots of stress.... i've been adicted to the bench press. How much can you bench?

No "machine" benching
Nothing but bar and weights

Age: 18 years old
Weight: 124lbs @ 5'10 (skinny, yes :))
Max bench: 145lbs
>>

Damn dude! pick up the fork and eat! 124@5'10"? your not skinny your emaciated :Q I don't mean that as an insult I'm just shocked by those stats.
>>

5'9"-5'10". I weigh 135-140lbs, You also gotta consider if he's got fat in him. He'll look bigger if he does. :) I bench like 150 max once.

2 years ago (I would have been 22 at the time), I could bench 180 as a max one rep. I could 160 5 times in row though . I only weighed 175 at the time, so I was happy with that.

Right now though, I'm 20 pounds heavier, in way way way worse shape, and would probably die if I tried to lift that much :)

right now, probably 365.

If this is true, what's your secret (regimen)? do you hit your shoulders hard or concentrate on the bench only?

Never have actually maxed on the bench but the most I've done was 225 - 5 times. Probably could have done 250+ once but am not into the grunt and heave method for lifting.

6'1" - 225
