How much better is mobile software gonna get in the next ten years?

It won't at all, unless it turns into desktop software. Mobile programs are uniformly bad, and limited.

Dwarf Fortress should hopefully be more than halfway done by then. However, its not mobile software.

"Usable" would be a nice achievement.
getting rid of all the carrier bloat and managing your app permissions and so on goes a long, long way. got 3 days of usage out of my S4, which was never possible before with the stock rom and not paying attention to what's actually going on with the phone. you'd be surprised at how much is going on in the background sucking up your battery and performance that you don't necessarily need. while 3 days isn't necessarily anything to brag about, it's a lot better than what i've become used to for smartphones - that's for sure. and it's most definitely usable! lol

I hope a lot better, because I still get frustrated every day with Android. Never used iOS.

I've been meaning write down and make a page about all the little things that don't make sense or piss me off.

How about, if I type in say... 'chipotle madison' why can't it give me the chipotle in the town of Madison 5 minutes from me in new jersey instead of the one 1500 miles away in Madison Wisconsin?

Or you could just type 'chipotle' and it will find the closest one.

You should do that search from Maps...

It will be so much "better" that it will lag down the 5.5Ghz cortex A273 processors that are used by then without any trouble.

Its still an issue sometimes. I think in Maps they fixed it but now Google Calendar has the ability to select a venue. I typed in In-n-Out yesterday and I got some In-n-Out hundreds of miles away. I had to add the city name before something came up reasonably close.
