How much better is a P4 512k then the P4 256k?

Hell Yeah there's a huge difference.

256k =0.18micron
512k = 0.13 mincron

0.18 doesnt overclock much.but the 0.13 does. 🙂

I really depends on the application. It seems that some apps benefit a lot from the extra L2 cache while others don't. Take a look at the tests in this article to see how the first gen P4's stack up against the Northwoods.

It's 10%-15% better per clock.
