How much bandwidth??

I have a 10Mb/2Mb DSL connection at home. I want to have a couple of PS3s hooked up playing Bad Company 2 this weekend, so we can actually have a good squad experience and you know, lan-esque fun.

How much bandwidth (not data usage) does that sort of thing take? I would think not too much, the console is rendering everything it just needs positional data right?

Right, the actual bandwidth used is in the single to low double digits kilobytes.

It'll be more than enough to get a good quality game, but more speed is always better. Its not just about whether you have enough total capacity, but how fast you can blast those individual packets out. I've got 30/5, which was a very noticeable upgrade from 15/2.

The only problem I see is if you are hosting the matches. I don't know how BC2 works on console as far as match hosting, but others might have lag if one of you are host.

I don't think there is a system host on the PS3 version, but I am not positive. If there is one, the player is certainly never blatantly notified 'Guess what, you're hosting!' by the system.
