How much bandwidth do you use per day on average? Heaviest day / lightest day.

Uploads and downloads both.
Please if you're daily transfer rate is over 5gig per day please attempt to legally explain to me why this is the case.

Hopefully everyone in this thread will tell the truth.

I am attempting to prove to some of the people that are outraged by Comcast's 250GB cap that there is no legal reason behind what they are doing and that they are probably using 5-10 "normal" users worth of bandwidth.

My guess would be less than 1gb per day. Hell, probably less than 200mb per day.

Heaviest day, is around 15GB. Usually from downloading a lot of podcasts and shows. Lightest is maybe 1GB? (I download something almost every day, if I don't.. someone else will in my residence)

EDIT: Oh and those are LEGIT, uses. We are not counting all my illegal bandwidth. I've had torrents going for days where I am downloading at 300kb/s constantly. Then my hard drive is full. :p And I consume it all. Yay!

Probably around 200mb/day download, maybe 10mb upload. Occasionally I'll download a game patch or demo which will bump the total to around 1gb. Unless I'm downloading a game from Steam, I dont think I would ever go over 1-2gb. I don't use torrents that much.

edit: although I do agree with the people complaining about bandwidth caps. The service is advertised as unlimited, so it should be unlimited or Comcast should stop advertising it as such.

Heaviest I remember doing was about 5-6GB in one day. I had just gotten home from a camping trip and had nearly 2GB of pictures that I uploaded to a couple of websites.

Normal usage I am probably somewhere around 100MB per day.

Me personally? I'd be shocked if I averaged even 1 GB per day. 1 GB per day between myself and other family members is probably about right.

Do you constantly max out your 16Mb connection for a 24 hour period? If you do constantly max out your pipe and pull 138GB per day what do you do with it? Do you just delete 90% of what you had downloaded?

When did I ask what your connection what capable of?

Probably around 2GB down per day and maybe 100MB up. I tend to download a lot of super-huge images. I like to check out picture sites and camera review sites. Today I downloaded 3.11GB from MIT's open courseware. Some days I don't even turn the computer on.

probably depends on how much playing WoW uses up (2-3 hours/day). other than that, all I do is basic web surfing and watching the occasional youtube video. my large downloads are fairly infrequent.

I've been connected 9 days - 350MB up, 1.1GB down.

This is not including my PS3, which I'd imagine is quite a bit higher due to game downloads being over a gig each, on top of online play.

About 20 gig a month. So maybe 800 meg a day on average. Anyone doing 250 gig a month is up to no good.

Typically, probably a few hundred megs down and a miniscule amount up. On occasion, maybe 2-3GB down and around the same up (I like to keep my ratio close to 1).
