how much are your textbooks going to cost for next semester?

I don't know yet, registration for the rest of my classes is tomorrow. It looks to be around $200 this year since I'm reusing a book and borrowing someone else's.

omfg my books as my schooling progresses will be TONS OF BLING

right now (getting pre-reqs over with/other requirements) i'm looking at most $450.

I'm lucky my school has textbook rental included in tuition. All you do is get your list on the first day pick them up and return them at the end of the semester. Easy as cake and the price is right. Last year my entire tuition was <$3,900. I estimated that if I had purchased all the books it would have been around $1,800 a year just for books.

I'm just taking literature classes next semester, so I'll probably get most of them from the library.

I should mention they retire the books after two years and I haven't had one that was highlighted in or destroyed at all. One year when they retired a biology book I brought my truck and picked them all up for free and sold them on Amazon.com at $80 a pop. Made a killing and paid for school that year doing that plus some goodies.
🙂

not sure yet, as i don't have the booklist... but when i was a naive ugrad frosh and bought them all from the school, i spent $200-$400. and its not like i'm doing that much reading, I'm a CS major!

since then, i've always gotten as many of my books as possible from half.com, amazon.com, bn.com, etc. Saves me TONS, and i can sell 'em back for almost as much.

mine is probably gonna be around $300 for a couple of textbooks. I will have to purchase 2 books, while 2 books are still being used for the 2nd part of the class.

A FORTUNE. 4 science classes with 3 labs makes me think its going to cost upwards of $500 bought online.

My books were most expensive in freshman year and the first half of sophomore. Got all my science and math generals out of the way in one straight run.

what, just science and not physics/chem or something? if so lol

Well a major in Biological Sciences requires all of the above at the school I attend.

Not sure of fall since don't have a book list yet, but last spring spent about $200 total, half of which were international edictions, and was able to recoup $180 of that through reselling on half.com. Really rocks when you net only $20 on books per semester.
