How much are you spending on Christmas Presents?

I just tallied it up and between our niece and nephew, siblings, parents, and a few friends, my wife and I spent $1374. Last year it was around $950.

I want to downsize xmas 🙁!

Not much at all this year. 🙁
Edit to say: Wish I was spending more...

Being out of work at the moment means I had 100 bucks to split between 8 people. I did it though and I got gifts they would like too.

Budgetted for $800, spent $1200.. Newly wed = I forgot a lot of cousins on the wife's side... God, I'm glad I only have 2 cousins, whom I never see...

EDIT: I will add that this is the first year I've actually made a list, so I'll be getting some nice goodies as well, so I'm less "ba-humbug!" about the whole thing. Received so far: new HTPC keyboard, sandisk sansa clip, nice stereo amplifier, wireless headphones, and a ps3, plus cash and steak! I can't complain 🙂

$30 total, split between my parents and my sister. Christmas in our house is always low-key, and with a bunch of movie buffs it's easy to buy something they'll enjoy. None of us really see the point of spending megabucks on gifts.

About $500 per kid, $250 on the wife, and about $100 per close relative.

Then around $25 for the "I see you a couple times a year" relatives 🙂

We spent $750. The big ticket item was $180 for Band Hero for the kids. All of the other gifts we purchased were between $5-$30.

About $300, since it always sucks being laid off, I budgeted about $100 per family member and only bought practical items, that they would actually use.

*$225 for my family

*Almost $200 for my wife

*Probably $400 for my wife's family (we splurged a bit there this year).

*Whatever my wife spent on me, I'm guessing $100.

*Almost $500 for myself if you count a few items that I've purchased this month. But, those were more selling-the-house-and-cashing-in-equity gifts than Christmas gifts.

probably more this year....

I did a computer for one uncle/aunt and another for another aunt. Both needed them. Cheapy computers but still about $200 on each.

Then, probably a hundred on each parent, some for my nephew, some for my sister in law, none for my brother, and something for my girlfriend. Maybe a couple small $5 to $10 GC's to a smattering of people who I usually don't give out gifts to because I just don't always have the means but can this year.

So probably going to dish out about $1000ish this year which is easily double than what I've done before.

Around $1200. Had to buy for my parents, my niece and nephews, my sister-in-laws, my wife, her parents, her brothers, her grandparents, and me. Also got a gift for our house cleaners.

well, I my budget was $500 but then I blew it all on myself yesterday so I guess I am going to be spending around $1000.

My wife and I spent about $400 on each other, our 9mo son, her parents, and her sister. I wish I could've bought gifts for my family, but we won't see them for Christmas, and we haven't exchanged gifts in the last couple years for financial reasons. Some of them are buying some small things for my son.

I'm trying to set a precedent for our son to not be materialistic. We're going to try to not spend a ton of money on him for Christmas and his birthday (probably $100 at each) and especially to focus on the real meaning of Christmas and on helping those less fortunate than us. When he gets older, we're going to have him go through his toys every year at Christmas and donate some of them to charity. We're also going to try to volunteer at Thanksgiving and Christmas to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

It adds up to about $2,000 (if I leave out the car that we bought for my wife for Christmas). This is down a little from last year.
