How Much are you going to spend on X-mas presents this year

We have a budget of $1200. Normally we spend about $2000. But we have a new addition to our family and we have to save a little more this year.

I've already spent $750 and I haven't started on Ladybuggy yet. Depending on if we decide a new case/PSU would be enough or if we're doing a whole overhaul, that will probably decide if I get over the $1k mark.

Just a suggestion - I know there are a decent portion of members here below 18 and I know that when I was 14-18, spending $500 on Christmas would have sounded insane. You might want to edit the poll to reflect some lower budgets. (Not that I think that's the only reason someone wouldn't spend over $500, but it's the first one that I thought of)

1200$ on my girlfriend. I got her a white gold 3-row wave bracelet from the Elsa Peretti line.
120$ on my mom, she is getting a Sandisk Sansa E250r w/ 2yr warantee because she broke her former mp3 player due to not "removing device safely".

I havent bought anything yet for my bros

at $300 currently, i'll probably get something for my roommate..

Somewhere in the range of $70 if you include shipping to relatives. We're already up to $30. This is about normal for us. Last year we bought a new camera so it was a big year at ~$600. This year we're likely buying a car in Jan so we're trying to keep expenses down.

I never really have a big budget for everyone else in the family, maybe like $50 per person (only gotta shop for 3 people), but so far for myself I have gotten me a new GPS ($400), an eVGA 8800GTX, and a new parka from calbelas.

lol

$70-80 tops.

I ask my parents not to buy me anything. I'd be plenty happy with a few items in the stocking (chocolate and such).

At the risk of being cliche, Christmas is about spending time with my family. Besides, we're all adults now and we all have jobs to purchase our own big ticket items.

We never really had money when growing up so I wasn't accustomed to getting hundreds of dollars of stuff. I know when I was young many of the rich kids I knew would get in excess of $1000 worth of loot. I remember my sister crying because she didn't get any gifts 😱

That said, I'm buying myself a $1500 laptop for school and work 😉

Hey, I even wrap the presents I get for myself up and put them under the tree addressed to me, so I can open them at the big Christmas get-together and act surprised. All except the video card that is, I am just wrapping the box on that one.

probably not much because in the past like 2 weeks i've spent about $1000 on myself.

Wii & accessories and games
TV & TV stand

i can't believe i spent that much!

A few games for my son, a nice leather purse for the wife (her idea), and a nice infrared filter for me. . . that is about it.

Zip. Nada. Nothing. Im traveling to spend time with family, thats enough. Xmas is not supposed to be about spending money. But feel free to continue your happy little "im an uber consumer" thread.

in my family, we're just going to do 1 person each for the kids (parents will pick out of a hat to see who gets who).. should interesting. im hoping to get one of my brothers🙂 (take that, damn twin sisters 😉!)

Not much - currently operating on a very tight budget. Two person household in SoCal, single income entry level position = very little disposable income. I had more spending power when I was in college =P

About $500 if you're talking about gifts though if I throw in the Wii that I'm planning to get for myself, gotta bump that up to about $700. At any rate I'm trying to keep this month to under $1000.
