I am 18 going on 19 next month, In the UK the drinking age is 18 not 21, I have been drinking for , maybe two years.I am quite educated in I.T and still attending education so I?m no Alcoholic Bum.
The thing is when I go out on a Saturday , I drink about 9 pints of stella ( 5 %) and maybe a few shots of vodka, I get drunk but Im still in control, my speech goes a bit and I slur but Im having the time of my life, now I don?t want to damage myself in later years or in fact now. On Tv in the run up to Christmas there?s a lot about Alcohol abuse and the like. I did a search and I couldn?t really find what I wanted to know. I don?t want to cut back, but If I need to I will, but can anyone put any input to this ?
:light:
You're fine. I drink every day and Im a student. Everyone says I have a drinking problem and I should cut back, but what for? I think it's common behavior for someone my age (22) and I should have the fun I want to have now, because in a few years, I wont be able to do this anymore.
 Party on
Drinking every day (in excess of a glass of a beer or a glass of wine with dinner) is not normal behavior. It doesn't matter if you're a student or not.

anyone know the percentage of college kids that binge drink? I know at my school it was > 80%, yet I've read studies that have the number more around 10%. Hard for me to believe.
I really don't believe the number is even close to 10%. Probably more like 40-50%
You realize the definition of binge drinking is having 5 or more beers, right?
