When I was working, $100 / paycheck (every 2 weeks) so about $200/month. It was deposited straight into company stock and now there is a nice sum there for a rainy day. Maybe the stock will eventually split and I'll make even more money, walmart stock btw. It doesn't cost anything to buy it because I work for the company but now I am on leave for school so I don't deposit squat.

Not including the money taken out of my checks for retirement funds, I try to save about $1000 of the left over money from my monthly pay. Thats if my wife doesn't get to it first!

You declared war on your credit card when you bought that $12,000 home theatre system. At CC interest rates (assuming you are not going to pay it off immediately), you are going to get goinked hard by the time you pay that off. I'm partly jealous, but at the same time I would have had the good sense not to spend the money that way on my budget.
