How messy is YOUR room? (Messiest room of a twitch streamer)

The best thing one can do for their mental health is keep a clean home. The cleanliness of your home is a reflection of how your brain is doing imo.

I always do a lot of cleaning before we leave on a trip. I like coming home to a clean house. So this is about as good as it ever looks.

I don't think just liking to have a clean home is OCD. It's all a matter of extremes. I think for most people a cleaner more organized home is better for the mind. You don't have to be OCD to keep a neat and tidy home most of the time.

-There is freakishly clean, then lived in, then messy, and finally just dirty.

I think most people reasonably expect the middle two options where there is stuff around and the occupants are clearly in the middle of a few things.

Freakishly clean is off-putting because... well it reflects potentially disordered thinking (control freak or something of that nature). Dirty, where things aren't only piled up but unhygienic with bad smells and food going bad and piled up dishes also belies a potential mental health crisis.

My dad used to live like that. I think it's genetic because my aunt did too, and without someone like my mom to clean up for her she was worse.

As for me, I have two modes. If there's a place for everything and everything in its place, I'm fine. If not, things will start to pile up a little. 😱
