I don't think just liking to have a clean home is OCD. It's all a matter of extremes. I think for most people a cleaner more organized home is better for the mind. You don't have to be OCD to keep a neat and tidy home most of the time.
-There is freakishly clean, then lived in, then messy, and finally just dirty.
I think most people reasonably expect the middle two options where there is stuff around and the occupants are clearly in the middle of a few things.
Freakishly clean is off-putting because... well it reflects potentially disordered thinking (control freak or something of that nature). Dirty, where things aren't only piled up but unhygienic with bad smells and food going bad and piled up dishes also belies a potential mental health crisis.
