Yeah, people see an article on Buzzfeed about pink slime and now they're experts on food production. Damn fearmongers.

"The ball, the bell, the boot, and the bowtie." I always wondered about the McNugget shapes since I was a kid.

I'm looking through their Youtube channel and most of the videos are 1/3 downvotes. A lot of Mickey D's haters on the internet!

I just don't get the haters. It's good if you need food in a pinch (like Sunday when I drove 400 miles roundtrip in-state to pickup a free Power Wheels Jeep for our son). It's not like I have time for a home cooked meal when I'm 200 miles away, so something like McDs is just fine with me.

Now do I eat there everyday, or even every week? Nope. Maybe 2 or 3 times a month at the most and I'm fine with that.

That limey Jamie Oliver really has lots of pull. He challenged McDonald's (and other fast food joints) and got them to cease using pink slime in 2012.

They wouldn't dare make the same video in 2011, the Cargill output would identically resemble the ammonia doused pink slime picture as mocked by this liar of a woman.

Because of the use of ammonium hydroxide in its processing, the product is not permitted in Canada.[31] In a statement, Health Canada stated that: "Ammonia is not permitted in Canada to be used in ground beef or meats during their production." Such products also may not be imported, as Canadian law requires that imported meat products meet the same standards and requirements as domestic meat.[31][32] Canada does allow Finely Textured Meat (FTM) to be "used in the preparation of ground meat" and "identified as ground meat" under certain conditions.[33] The product does not meet the legal requirements for sale in the United Kingdom,[34] and the European Union has banned it[35][36] and other mechanically separated meats for human consumption.[37][38]

Yeah, i never could get the whole problem with pink slime. It's ground up raw meat folks, what the hell do you want it to look like? And since raw chicken is pink, I would figure if they did grind it up that much, it would be pink goop.

Funny thing to me was she compared the two, and I didn't see a lot of difference. Granted, their goup was not quite as ground up, which gives the meat more of a meaty texture I susppose, but still, it's ground raw meat. Chicken nuggets are the best though.

"Pink Slime" is a beef product, not a chicken product. The alleged picture of pink slime, is not what pink slime looks like either.

And FYI, in the US, McDonald's was one of the first companies to stop using pink slime. They also weren't the only company using it as the majority(over 70%) of all commercially produced ground beef products contained up to 14% "pink slime" at the time of ABC's expose in 2012.

Today only bargain basement ground beef contains "pink slime".

ABC had way more to do with it than Oliver.
