How many years before we see a President worse than Trump?

Worse than Trump? Not sure that's possible, and that's not just my left-leaning politics showing. I mean, Trump is corrupt, incompetent and vindictive. His only redeeming quality is that his stupidity prevents him from accomplishing some of the evil things he wants to do. If he were intelligent, the republic would be dead.

"stupidity prevents him" -- I've concluded such is the case, but I worry I could be wrong.

For instance, who might have played out the prospective chess moves from here on? I hope the Dem House has built a good in-house consulting group.

The longer the shutdown continues, the greater the risk that Mueller's investigation will stall -- if there's that much more to uncover. Trump could degrade the federal service and our country to the point that we ARE literally coming apart at the seams.

I say he's got to go, and go now. Without threats, I'd say everyone should start a letter-writing campaign to the Republican Senators. Of course, there are some threats you could make, like ostracizing and boycotting just about every GOP voter you can discover for the next 20 years. How that works as effective "hostage-taking," I can't say.

I'm just frustrated.

If all presidents were "as bad as Obama," the US would be in pretty good shape.

Recovering from an economic collapse triggered mostly by Republicans? Check.

Restoring foreign ties and the dignity of the office, both lost by a Republican predecessor? Check.

Actually respecting science, the environment, logic and reason? Check.

Presiding over falling illegal immigration rates? Check.

There were certainly problems with Obama's administration, but he's so far above Trump in competence and intelligence that they don't even share the same atmospheric layer.

Recovering from an economic collapse triggered mostly by Republicans? Bill Clinton signed the laws that enabled the collapse. The federal reserve with its quantitative easing policies helped the US recover. Obama did NOTHING to help the US recover from the 2008 collapse.

Restoring foreign ties and the dignity of the office, both lost by a Republican predecessor? - You mean like snubbing our nose at the funeral of Margaret Thatcher? Easing sanctions on Iran?

Where are all your posts decrying the hundreds of Americans within our borders that were killed by law enforcement before a trial? Put up or STFU.

US citizens aren't allowed to plot the deaths of other Americans with our enemies, and if they conduct themselves in a manner consistent with enemies of state, they might just get treated like it.

Bush Jr. not only didn't correct Clinton's laws, he was generally in favor of economic deregulation and turned a blind eye to the predatory practices that helped trigger the collapse.

I wouldn't talk about funerals when Trump had to be kept out of Barbara Bush's funeral to avoid disrespecting her and her husband. And let's not forget how Trump couldn't pay respects to fallen WWI soldiers due to a little rain.

And do you really want me to take you to town on Obama's respect for science?

He accepts the scientific reality of climate change. Trump doesn't. Trump's EPA has even censored and discouraged scientists from reporting on the subject. And news flash: environmental agreements are not about economic advantages. They're about saving the damn planet. Short-term profits for fossil fuels and lead won't matter if humanity as a whole is suffering later on.

It's still illegal to shoot someone who isn't posing a threat. Just ask Walter Scott... well, you would if a police officer hadn't shot him in the back when he was unarmed, and then tried to cover it up knowing he'd committed murder.
