Just by doing a regular view in windows, how many do you get?

I have between 5 and 6.

How many can you connect to and access the routers config cause the dumbass left the password as the default?

I have 1.

Sixteen (seventeen if you count mine). Two of them are open. Haven't tried accessing other ppl's routers, but mine's not on a default password.

only one, and its mine.

I don't think anyone else in the town I live in has the internet, let alone a wireless router.

9 and my ISP went down so I stole one of them for 10 minutes so I could find the support number. And I didn't like doing it. Seriously though only me and one other person in my range actually uses a security key. Idiots.

[edit]I haven't tried reconfiguring them but since atleast one of them is called "Netgear" I'm reasonably sure I could.

only mine....damn boonies...no one here would know what to do with a wireless network.

When I was in school: 6, and I could get on any of them whenever I needed.

two.

One of which is mine.

The second one is just an Apple Airport. I can log in and browse the web with it, but I can't access the router page.

2. My next door neighbor has WEP enabled, and the other one is a weak signal with no protection

I've got one neighbor whose wireless network I can see. It's not secured, and it became very valuable during my troublesome times with Adelphia (their fault turning my service off, not mine).

Only one other in my area. Totally unprotected. What's wierd is My Ibook G4 gets around a 45% signal strength to it while my IBM Thinkpad T42 gets only a signal in the high 20ish percentage range.

What's your favourite neighbours network called?

One of my neighbours has "Phils Network" which I thought was inspired.

Mine is "Armor", a Netgear WGT624

Maybe two others. Reception is lousy around here. Even with our wireless router sitting in the window it's hard to get a consistent connection from the sidewalk.

Just mine. Kind of surprising. I figured I'd be able to see at least one other, but I wonder if maybe the construction of the apartment complex prevents the wireless signals from getting through the walls. My cell phone reception is horrible the second I walk in the door, so it wouldn't surprise me if it affects the wireless networks, too.

? There are only 11 channels availabe for 802.11b/g I'm guessing at least 6 tof them are 802.11a.(which is all but unbelievable) you'd need at least one open channel at 2.4Ghz for one person at a time to use a 2.4Ghz cordless phone.
