My system is currently stuffed the following components feeding on a no-brand 350W PSU, which I'm not sure supplies suffcient, or accurate amounts of power.

Radeon 9700PRO
120GB DiamondMax Plus 9 HDD
PCI 10/100 LAN
512MB DDR333
DVD-ROM
AMD Athlon XP 2600+ CPU (333FSB)
SB Audigy PCI
Four case fans connected to PSU

Is 350W sufficient with all of the above parts installed? However, m/b's hw monitoring indicates that "+12V" is +12.99V .. is this correct? Seems abit off, same to "+5V".

Im having a problem with my gigabyte R9700PRO.. it hangs couple of seconds in 3d games (all). During operation, the card is very very hot. I suspect that either the power supply has supplied unstable voltage to it.. or either it doesnt hav enough power. Everything worked fine a week ago when i bought the whole set of hardware.

Do you think there's damage in the graphics hardware/PSU?

I would definitely go with a name brand ps for the stuff you have. Try Antec or Enermax. I would also go with 400W or above. It's always good to go a little above what you need to be on the safe side.

my radeon requires separate power..

but my +12V power shown with h/w monitoring is +12.99V.. is this too much?
Im jus afraid that "inaccurate" power supplied to my radeon from the PSU is causing it to hang during 3d games..

do you think this is possible?

help appreciated.

I'm not a real techy when it comes to volts/amps etc. As for your hanging with the video card, it seems like it is inadequate power. Inadequate power ruined my 80 gig Maxtor HD a couple years ago. Some people will say 350W is adequate, but keep in mind this is a no name ps company you're using and you don't want to be adequate with expensive power consuming parts.

If you're in a position to, see if you can borrow a decent 400W or better ps from somewhere and pop it in your computer. If the the video card problem is gone then you know it's a ps issue.

Just my 2 cents.

Eleventy-billion.

Is it REALLY too much to ask that anybody look at the other 10 threads a day like this?
