Eight times in 23 years; five tickets. The times I didn't get tickets were when I was in a work truck and the cops let me off because they figured I'd get fired over a ticket (which might have been true).

3 times. 1 was for going 40 in a 30, the ticket they knocked it down to 35 in a 30. Took the class and got it voided. 1 for failure to come to a complete stop. Stupid ticket. And 1 for going 65 in a 40. It was 2am on a tuesday, he ran my plates and licence, and let me off with a warning.

Four times in 10 years. "I like totally paused" once (warning), "suspicion of drunk driving" (warning, I filed a formal complaint with the PD & got a letter of apology from the cop), illegal left turn (got a ticket, but judge threw it out in exchange for 5 hours of community service), & passing in a no-passing zone (person in front of me was doing 20mph in a 40mph zone, cop said they'd have passed them too, got a warning).

I love the cops in my University town in Bloomington, Indiana. Cops pulled me over yesterday because I accidentally ran a flashing red light and did not stop for it. The cop saw that I had a clean record ever since I got a license, gave me a warning, even smiled and talked about the whether and our graduation ceremony and let me go, congratulating me.
P.S. he was a state cop, came down for extra security this weekend!
So what's the whether supposed to be like on graduation day? ;)

Once... for suspicion on marijuana. I was 18 at the time (looked like I was 15.. still do), so they were trying to bust me for trafficing drugs.
"Where you going.. you going to pick anything up?" (repeatedly)

Nothing came of it. Their reason for pulling me over (official) was a burned out rear license plate light.

many times, and usually with the ticket in my younger days.
The last time I got pulled over was funny, I was in a 10 yard dumptruck. He is behind me in heavy traffic on an on ramp, and runs the plate (as he reads it);)
He gets information on an F250 pickup!
The plate had been mashed a bit, and the "0" looked like an "8" if you had a good imagination.
He got my papers, and laughed about it. I said I'd touch it up with some paint and he was cool.

Maybe 7 or 8? I've gotten a few speeding tickets.

The worst was a few years ago after recently moving back to Minneapolis. I was on my motorcycle at about 4am after leaving an after-bar party. At 4am in April in Minnesota it gets damn cold on a bike, and I just wanted to get home in a hurry. I got pulled over for speeding, then the officer noticed I hadn't renewed my tabs. I always forget to do that for the first ride or two in the spring. Then he asked about my license, which still had my address from when I lived further north. That was when he started sniffing my breath and asking if I'd been drinking. Well yeah, I'd had some beers over the course of the night. He made me walk the line, and the whole sobriety thing. I was sure I was going to spend the night in jail. He let me off with just a citation for the expired tabs. I lucked out on that one.

amazing timing with this thread...

I was actually pulled over twice in two day (late saturday night and early this morning). I was driving two different cars, got warnings for two different problems (tail light in one car, inspection in the other) and here is the kicker, I was pulled over by the same cop in both instances.

He was funny about it the second time... The saturday night incident he more or less insinuated he only pulled me over because I was cutting through campus and he assumed I was a drunk. Lucky for me I had been working all night and hadn't had a lick to drink. When he pulled me over early this morning you could tell that he was just finishing his shift. Guess it wasn't too bad of a night as he was a little joking about pulling me over. I was very surprised a majority of the cops in my town are dicks (I think it comes from a majority of them thinking they are super trooper even though the only recognizable civilized thing in 20 miles is the university). I also am a pretty friendly guy and growing up with a couple cops in my family, I know they are usually a bit more cordial when you are nice back to them.

3 times. Once for a rolling stop sign ticket, once for a running light out fixit ticket, and once for old registration sticker fixit ticket.
