How many times have you been on an airplane

I've flown maybe 50 times in my life, and well, it was pretty fun. Jets are sweet shiz, I always wish they'd do a barrel roll. Take offs and landings always make me smile, and the only bad part about flying is the airports.

Flying is the shit, the only reason I ever want to be a millionaire is so I can get a jet and an ex-navy fighter pilot to fly me.

To quote myself from the other thread:

No doubt. The pilot at one point flew really low over a local lake, and then did a hard banked left turn. I was sitting in the back, and the doors were wide open, so when I looked to my left, all I saw was water. Pretty terrifying.

Add to that, I didn't have a headset on, so the sound was pretty deafening. That said, I'd do it again in a heartbeat if I ever get the opportunity to again.

Probably under 20 times. I don't remember all of them though. Most memorable is when they were trying to hustle some planes out of ATL before a thunderstorm rolled in. Fastest I've ever taken off before (like really pushed back in my seat), those 727's can hustle if they want them to! Most frequently I'm making the ATL to Frankfurt route which is slightly over 8hrs. One of these days I'll pony up the cash for 1st class as coach gets annoying after awhile.

Dozens of times on Cessnas, Boeings, Airbuses, Bombardiers, Ilyushins and a couple of others.

Commercially, a few times. Lets see... 1989, 1995, 2000, 2001 (right after 9/11 I might add) and 2003. So ten times I guess, unless I'm forgetting a trip. These are round trips so I count each as two flights.

I don't fly commercially anymore if I don't have to. It's just an unpleasant experience these days. I've ranted about that enough so I'm not going to go into detail again. The flying part doesn't bother me one bit. It's the BS on the ground.

I've also flown on a Cessna 150 twice. Once at the controls. First time the door popped open in mid flight. Rickety old POS. I want to get my ultralight or private pilot's license some day but it's too expensive right now.

I also fly RC airplanes. Need a new field though. I quit my club in protest last season due to poor management on the executives' parts. Mostly arbitrary rule making and cliquism. I have a two RC helicopters I fly in my front yard.

Sounds like a Cessna for sure :awe::biggrin:
