how many times can I re-write on a DVD+RW disc?

I believe they're generally rated up to about 100 times or so. It depends on the brand and the quality, though, at a certain point the media will start to lose integrity from repeated thermal stress.

I just used those words to look smart. :)

DVD+RW discs can be rewritten about 1,000 times, making them comparable with the CD-RW standard.

They say CD-RWs can be rewritten around a thousand times just like they do for DVD+RW's however my personal experience differs. After 25-30 repeated full rewrite process, error rate skyrcoketed even with good quality media.

If you don't believe me, burn an ISO on a brand new CD-RW disc, then run the Nero disc quality and read speed check. Repeated burn the same ISO file to a brand new rewritable disc. After 20 times or so, check error rate.

if you have touched the surface with your fingers don't expect to write on it more then once thought,,maybe 2-3 times provided that you do a full format or you have numberous errors throughtout the disc. i don't have any -rw or +rw, they are expensive and too slow to write on. why not use a removable hd instead? or a second hd with a little more investment? rewritable? no, reformatable? yes. may as well use -r or +r
