My favorite was when I worked for a call center. A coworker, named Chad, had been working with a customer and they were disconnected. She called back and had an EXTREMELY country accent.

"May I please speak to Cha-Ya-Da" THAT'S 3 SYLLABLES....

So, to answer your question:

Struggle = Stir-ug-gle in country slang.

The rule in English is if there's a double constanant (gg in this case), it is broken into two sylables.

I rated this thread 5/5 on the grounds that there is no way to understand 'Struggle' within 1 syllable unless you are a complete idiot.

Edit: That or a complete genius on an entirely different level.

yup, considering the vast majority have posted the correct answer, the minority brave enough to ask the question to better themselves are somehow the indicator of our entire population...however if we have people like you not able to realize things like this, maybe we really are screwed

Struggling is not a word? Making the change from Struggle to Struggling obviously requires the inclusion of the 'uh' or 'a' syllable when spelling out pronunciation.
