How many stuck pixels are too many?

My wife picked up the following as indicated in my prior thread;
$399 32" HD LCD thread

I have 1 stuck pixel in the right side of the middle 1/3. There are also 3 stuck sub-pixels? in close proximity. They almost seem to be in a vertical line. I think this is enough to justify exchanging the lcd. Am I off-base here?

The picture is pretty good (at least with my xbox 360) but as with all LCDs the SD picture makes me want to run back to my CRT. We will get the HD package this week but even then there are only a handful of channels. I guess I'll have to get the xbox 360 HD DVD drive.

edit: got a new one. it still has a couple stuck sub-pixels, 1 in each bottom corner so I can live with that.

I purchased it at the local MicroCenter. I called and they said they had 8 in stock for a quick exchange. I am hesitant to buy large electronics on-line because of such issues. I would rather pay a few extra bucks and deal with a local vendor.

Yeah, I've heard of exchange policies that say something like 3 or more dead pixels in the area of a quarter means it's a bad unit and you can exchange it no problem.

If it's not as bad as that, you may have to pay a restocking fee or something... no idea where this was from but I just remembered it from somewhere...

Go ahead and try an exchange for a better unit. IIRC, each manufacturer of LCD's has their own set standard of how many stuck pixels are considered defective.

I didn't see any pixel policy on the receipt. May be they have it at the store? There is also a tiny indentation in the front bezel if the pixels are not enough.

I think by better unit he meant exchange it for the same one, but a new one hoping it doesn't have stuck pixels...

yeah, microcenter will exchange it. I wouldnt accept any LCD with any stuck sub-pixels. If there is a dead sub-pixel, thats ok. If it is a dead full pixel, thats is manageable in my books as well.
