I used to use the Mach 3s and would get 3-4 shaves per cartridge, but I got tired of spending $20 bucks for 4 cartridges so I started using disposable 2 blade razors which give a almost equivalent shave (not quite as good), but for 1/2 the price.

Oh, and I'm a hairy white beast, so the razor is working overtime.

Well considering I'm an asian and I could count the amount of hairs that grow out with my fingers, several hundred times.

I only get a few good shaves out of my blades, but I tend to overuse them.

I should start buying disposables again. Cheap as hell, good enough shave.

I notice by the end of the week but I'll continue to use it for a few weeks to a month or about 20 shaves. I can't afford to spend that kind of money every couple of days on a few tiny strips of metal.

No idea. I just started using a razor (learned by googling:Q) two days back with a Mach 3. Went well, except shaving a bump in my skin off (blood). Makes my face so dry though.

Looking at the results, are you kidding me? A couple shaves per razor? That can't be cheap in the long run.

The vibrating 3+ blade razors last a long time for me (12+). Disposable ones I used to use only about 2-4 times. Something about the vibration mechanic makes the blade last a lot longer, not necessarily that it is sharper, but that a duller blade is still functional for a while. Make sense?

..they crap out after a couple of shaves. they used to last all week. The mba's are in the razor business I'll bet. yet another race to the bottom.

I use one of the Mach 3 derivatives. I don't really keep track as how many shaves I get though. Usually once the aloe strip is gone, I start noticing a progressive loss of quality in the shave. Once I can't shave without drawing blood, I replace the blade. My wallet isn't built for buying Mach 3 blades every week like some do.

And I'm an extremely hairy man. :(

i only shave twice a week to let hair grow out so my skin is nice, hence blades last me about 3 weeks.

I have been using them for years but occasionally buy regular ones when I run out and there is a huge difference.

"All of the cartridges we sell are Cryogenically Tempered (frozen) down to -300 F to improve the durability of the blade. Our Cryogenic Tempering Process makes our razors the longest lasting razors you can buy. Purchasing the same brand cartridges you are using now will allow you to see what a difference our process makes in shave quality and life.

Customers with light beards report using the same cartridge for up to 7 months. Everyone's hair is different, so your results will vary. If you get 7 shaves out of one un-treated cartridge, expect to get 28 shaves out of our Cryo cartridges.

Our cartridges may cost a little more, but will save you 60%. "

I use the Mach III, I tend to get 12-16 good shaves out of each blade.
But I have a full beard, & rather fine, less coarse hair, so that helps. I only shave my neck & dress up the area at the top of my cheeks.

Buy the cryo-treated Mach 3 blades. I was getting a whole month out of those, 12-15 shaves. For some reason, they werent much more expensive than going to CVS for them, either.

I stick with the same Schick TracerFX double blade for weeks. Granted I'll skip shaving once or twice a week.

Not sure what the replacement schedule is. Maybe 5 blades in 4 months? 15 blades/year?

I would have to estimate in the ballpark of 24-36. I shave 2-4 times per week.
I don't change it until the blue strip is completely gone and it feels almost like sandpaper.

I get quite a few.

I use the back end of an electric to trim down, then the actual electric part and then I'll finally use a razor. So the razor isn't really doing much work at all.

This, but I probably get closer to about a dozen shaves. My stubble will turn a razor to a butterknife in short time.
