Oh man I spent so much time at the arcades playing Street Fighter 2. I still consider it one of my favorite all time games. I'm like Gurck, I though it was so cool going to the arcade when I was 12 and whooping all the older teenagers asses.

Yep, you forgot to mention SF2 Turbo...the legit version of Hyper. I do remember Super SF2 being a disappointment in my local arcade when it came out. Everyone played it for the mandatory first few weeks, and then went back to Turbo.

I also loved Time Killers, Samurai Showdown (the original), Killer Instinct, and of course the MK series (haven't really played anything beyond 3, though).

*sigh* I miss arcades...too bad they don't have many around anymore.

I didn't really get into the fighter games like that until Mortal Kombat came out. Street Fighter was what we always played on the SNES...

Most of my money went into Marvel Super Heroes (the first game I mastered everyone's combos), then moved to X-men Vs. Street Fighter, MVC, and then MVC2.

Probably spent more than $100 dollars before XMVSF and then I started making kids waste more money than I spent :evil:

i played some SF but i played more operation Wolf, outrun, and spyhunter. Those were the ownage. Later on I played cruisin' USA and the new games like sega rally GT or whatever.

Capcom Fighters and Mortal Kombat 1 - 2 -3.... spent well over $100++ from me. (begged like $5 mulitple times from my parents so i can hit the arcades) haha
