if i do rhythm pushups and go pretty quickly (relying a lot on momentum) i can do 50 to 60 in a set.

if i do them slowly feeling every inch and pausing at the bottom i can do mb 30 to 35 at a time.

i can tell you, i get a better work out doing the 30 than the 50.

Try this for squats without weight, and you'll have rubber legs at the end of the work out. 8 sets of 15 reps. Without weights, get into squat position, hold your arms out in front of you, then cross your arms, so that each hand touches your shoulders. Start standing up, and sloowwwllly go down counting off 1 to 10 then stopping at 10 when you reach the squat point. Hold there for 5 seconds, then go up slowly in 5 seconds. Do that 15 times, 8 sets. Did that during football training in highschool, and got huge quads!! Seriously, and you run faster too! Least I did anyway.

**Edit: My speeeling at nithgt i s horrenzdous**

Btw, kudos and trail mix to the old guy for doing that many push ups. Hope you do that regularly, otherwise go see a doctor before you begin any kind of exercise program...seriously. Hehe.

I wouldn't do it in person. He'd probably bitch-slap your arms out from underneath you and call a win by default. ;)

I just did 30 -- I could have done a few more though. I haven't done them in a long time and I'm about 60 to 70 pounds overweight now.

At 37 years old, been smoking for over 20 years, I just whipped out 40 good push-ups (and I am a overweight POS). Thats after a full body workout at the gym after work today.

PANT.....PANT...PANT
