How many push-ups can you do in one set?

I was just able to do 47 in one set, which is a personal best. After waiting about 5 minutes, I was able to crank out 39 more in a set.

Just a month ago, I could only do about 20 in a set.

Edit: One push-up is one standard push-up (Nose to ground, then all the way back up). Hands at should width, straight/flat back, no knees, and full movement. No pumping like they do in the military.

I could do 100+ easily when in the military but those days are long gone.

Just to show off I would do 125 pushups back then.

I can only do 20-30, but I usually do them after lifting, so my arms are fatigued (plus I'm 220 lbs).

Right on. I'm at 202 lbs. I get killer tricep pumps when I superset push-ups with tricep extensions.

When I was in the military, I could do 100. Now, I can do somewhere between 50-75.

100?? When I was in Tae Kwon Do, that was standard punishment at the end of the lesson if the class was lazy. And, that was followed by 100 sit-ups on an incline. Another kid on the 3rd floor of my dorm bet the floor that he could do more pushups than the rest of the floor combined. He won. And, for the last 2 or 3 guys, he had one of the girls from the second floor sitting on his back.

Just as long as you don't mistake the pump as an indicator of progress. ;)

Of course if a girl is walking by my count will automatically change: "19...20...21...errrrr...197....198...199...200! WHEW!"

I'm a weak little white boy, I can do about 25 without my arms turning to noodles.

Thought about working on it regularly, but then I realized I'd have to keep it up indefinitely and... I'm lazy.

Then it takes about 10 minutes to catch my breath.
Then a 30 Min. power nap to re-energize.
