I've never tried to max out, but our boxing warmup includes 100 pushups. So at least 100 non-stop.

You need to add a "and how old are you?" clause to the end of your question. :whiste: If you're under 25 and can't do at least 40 pushups in a minute you're a sad sack of shit for sure!

I'm over 40 and can do 45 pushups in 1 minute. How many until I drop dead? Maybe 55. Maybe. 45 is honestly difficult for me but I can do it. I also run 1.5 miles in under 12 minutes. Not Olympic by any means but not bad for 40-ish. I'm not skinny either.

Go me! Go me!

Back in the good old days of the US Army - you got 100pts for doing 72 official push-ups in 2-minutes. I managed that feet twice.

Now - old, out of shape, maybe 15.

if I tried to do them right now I can maybe get 30

after a normal workout 3x20 is hard as hell

lol just tried now and could not even do one. Still too sore from my first day at the gym (in months) yesterday. :p My arms are like the weakest part of my body though so I probably still can't do more then 10.

To add to that, how much do you weigh is also important, along with how tall you are.

The taller you are, the more energy/resistance for each rep. Ditto with more weight.

If someone is 5'6, 125lbs, they should be able to pop out a hundred no problem in decent shape. If someone is 6'4", 255lbs, even in excellent condition that's a LOT of work.

6'2" - 210 here.

I make sure to keep it at the same number of Big Macs I can eat at once - 3. If I make it to 4 Big Macs I'll have to add an extra pushup to burn the extra calories.

I'm tall, fat, 49, and I have not done a pushup for 30 years. I did 3 and now my ears are ringing.
ARE YOU HAPPY NOW?

just did 40, haven't been in the gym for a month tho :(at that point it seems to be more of a cardio issue than strength for me anyway.

Did a quick 30 second run, I think I counted 32. I'll try again in about 10 minutes and see how many I can crank out in a minute w/ good form.

I just did a measly 20:(
I could probably push out 5 more if I wanted to but I have to go the gym later so I'll save my energy for that.
