How many pull ups can you do?

I just started doing pull ups after using lat pull down for years. I'm wondering how many reps can others do.

I'm 185lbs, I can do 8 reps on wide grip (hands at shoulder width) and 10 reps with close grip (palms pointing outwards). I'm pretty happy though, because 4 years ago I couldn't do more than 1 rep, and I weighed less back then too.

I weigh around 190 and with shoulder width and palms facing towards me around 10 I think. These are all the way down to straight arm at the bottom not the half-ass crap a lot of people do :)

This is pretty impressive. I've never tried palms inwards, though. Gotta do it next time. Btw, by shoulder widhth I mean the long bar, passed the point where the edges start bending down. Your hands end up being about 2 foot apart.

Hmm for me shoulder width would be on the straight bar with my hands literally as wide or maybe a tad wider than shoulders.

Now if the pullups you're referring to are the ones with the bent bar so that your hands are actually angled inwards a bit - well damn those are hard i couldn't tough 10!

Those are the ones that I do at the gym. I absolutely hate the machine, as it wears my upper body out very quickly, but the results are good.

I'm up to 10 in one set. I can do 2 x10. The 3rd set never get beyond 5...

@ 6'4'' 195lbs, I've got too much darn body to pull up... short armed peple have better leverage. :)

I can do 10-15 now.. I weight 210lbs.. But about 6-8 months ago, I could only do 3-4..

Working out every day for at least an hour does have its benefits.
