How many people use Google Desktop?

I still can't buy into the big fuss about search. Lately it's all you hear about, everyone bragging about search features.
Don't get me wrong I use google constantly but when it comes to my files/emails/etc. I've never had a problem finding what I needed with the built in search functions.

Crashes my Outlook 2003 (surprise surprise) so I removed it...

It's a security risk (at least it used to be).

If you use its search function you can access all files on the computer, not only yours.

In addition to this, I believe it uploads certain files to Google as well & as you said, all files on the PC its installed on are fair game.

I installed it for a few weeks. Thought it was too bloated and got rid of it.

For as little as I search on my own computer, the Windows built-in is good enough.
