Personally I just leave the case off my 'puter, and only have 1 60mm blowing over the CPU area (serving no real purpose... heh).
Leaving the case off lets all the nasty heat escape and IMO is just as effective as having half a dozen freakin' fans!!!*
So yeah, it is not noisy at all, can't even hear my 7200RPM hard drive (well I can, but it's certainly no real difference with the case on).
I suggest you folks give it a go - however if you have roaming small children and/or animals in the house, it may not be advisable.
Just dust everything off prolly once or twice a month, like take everything out and get the dust outta there!
