How many people think their computers are much too loud?

Mine definitely is too loud. Sad cause I only have 4(two 26CFM Y.S. Techs, two 17.1cfm 50MMs) fans in my system, besides my power supply...

LOUD AS A FREAKIN 5HP WETVAC!

Seriously though, my ears are ringing.

My case is quite loud as well. I have two cheapo 80mm case fans, that's part of the problem. My Acer 50x CDROM is really loud too, and my Fireball LM hard drive sounds like it's in pain. :p I could probably make it quieter, but I just turn up the mp3s to drown it out. :)

Bigsmooth,

I did that too...to drown out the sounds, I have to turn up my headphone volume up really high....which is why my ears are ringing and have been for the past 3 days

Yes, quite loud here as well. It pretty much runs 24/7 and it's amazing how quiet the room is when it is (or they are) off!

Mine is really loud. It has the power supply fan, two 50mm fans up top, a huge cpu cooler with two huge fans, a 2CoolPc cooler that makes tons of noice (but works great), plus the fan on the video card, and two hard drives. I can't sleep with it on. I don't notice it during the day, but it is amazing how quiet my room sounds when I shut it down. I need to do something about it.

I can't sleep if my computer is off. With it off, I can hear traffic outside. My friend slept over once in my room. He said the whirrrrring sound of the fans drove him nuts while I slept like a log... :)

My computer used to be very loud when I had my Pep66 w/a 38cfm Delta black label fan cooling my cpu. The noise from that fan was very annoying.

My PC is too damn loud as well, but I guess that's what you get when you have a total of 9 fans inside the case.

I swear that one of these days it's going to levitate off the desk.

Mine is quite a noisy beast as well, 1 120mm YS Tech up front, 2 120mm's on the side, and 2 80mm's on the back... Sounds like a server farm here......

hah, you pansies, just ask amnesiac what kind of fan he sold me... all-metallic fan, which generated more noise than all my other 120mm, 80mm, 60mm, 40mm fans combined... actually, i kinda miss that case (it was sold to a friend of mine as i decided to experiment on watercooling)

I was thinking that maybe I should try watercooling out...these Y.S. Tech's are too freaking loud....

Question...are two Y.S Tech 26CFM 60MM fans louder than 1 38MM Delta?

My next case: over 15 60mm fans and it's going to be whisper quiet.
Don't believe me, but it will.
Delta's ARE LOUD.
Much louder than 5 YS Tech's!

ya well

I have 4 80mm Sunon Fans in my case rite now, and it's a wind tunnel.

My friend came over he said that freakin comp is driving him nuts. And I didn't hear a thing =)

But ya, it's getting a bit annoying nowadays, so my solution...

FANBUS!!!

4 sunon 80mm fans, a Quantum Fireball LM, and a golden Orb, damn it's crazy, oh ya, not to mention the Antec power supply fan, that's plenty loud too.

my 5 (that's right - 5) 80 mm's and one 120 mm just became too loud that I had to rig up a fan control system. i can now turn on and off individual fans from the front of my case. pretty neat, actually... :)

The problem with a fanbus for me....if I turn one off...I think I might risk instability...

I recently replaced an 80mm and 120mm with "silent" Sunons. No change. So, out of desperation I simply unplugged the 120. Case temp went up 7 C, CPU temp unchanged. Stability has remained unaffected. Wish I had done it months ago.
