I would never do it either!

Even if my sis worked for Netflix and got movies for free which would mean I would get them for free and would cost me nothing to just ask for the movie again if I want to see i again!

Actually, I don't copy movies. If I think the movie is worthy of my 20 bucks, I'll buy them (ie. LotR). I'm gulity of copying tv series dvds though. I don't really have time to watch them on their scheduled time, so I copy them and watch them eventually. Hey, they were free when they aired! I did that once though. Too much work so...

Is that wrong? Probably.

Nope, I rip them and encode them into DivX with a VBR MP3, dolby surround downmix track, or maybe the same, but with XviD at the helm. Either way, never 1:1.

Everyone I know with a Netflix subscription copies them. That's 4 people....and they do their copying at our workplace and store the ISOs on a server at work.

Edit: No, I do not have a Netflix subscription and no, I do not have any illegal copies of those movies.
Wow, one disgruntled employee and that business is facing a huge fine.

That disgruntled employee is me. I'm waiting until I graduate and leave.

not before me! I'm taking them down first and collecting the reward! 😀

I know enough people that buy movies that I have access to almost any movie I want anytime I want.

Are there programs for that? I've seen a few clips encoded with Xvid that look amazing, its almost on par with HD quality. Of course the source could be from a HiDef feed.

Netflix is too expensive for me so I had to quit it. I would love it if there 2 movies a month didn't have a 4 rental max, granted I probably wouln't rent over 10 a month on the two a month program, so they should change it to that!

I signed up for Blockbuster Online today, because the wife and I are going to do AFI's Top 100.

I don't anticipate feeling the urge to rip very many of them though. I'll make it through life without a backup copy of Yankee Doodle Dandy.
