I was just wondering if the % of people here unemployed matches the % of people unemployed in the US.

Does not matter if you were fired, layed off, down sized, quit, reduction in workforce or whatever, unemployed is unemployed. If your working under the table then no your not unemployed.

You do not have comment but may if you like.

No you can not see who voted in the poll.

Been working here for around 18 months now IIRC. It was 6 months of just fixing computers at home before this gig though.

what if i'm not working while i'm at work? i only quit in my head. i'm just gonna space out until friday.

Technically unemployed since Dec. 2003, but last week, I started paid training that MIGHT lead to an actual job. (mixed feelings about that) 😛

dad (electronics repair) & cousin (mech engineer) were both laid off within the last 2 weeks... lack of available work.

unemployment rate != non-workers

FYI, the unemployment statistic you see in the news is in relation to people actively seeking jobs but can't find one. The rate here will be higher because it tallys all non-workers like students who wouldn't normally be included in the unemployment rate.
