Mine is in production and about to come. I've owned and am still using my dell latitude cpia and c600 and both have been great for sometime. Although I hear 8200 owners have speedstep and heat issues. Is this small percentage?

I haven't had any problems with mine, I've been using it nearly 24/7 since early September.

I got a refurb about 8 months ago and I'm very happy with it. P4 1.6, 384 megs of ddir, geforce 440 go 64 meg, dvd cdrw combo. It's heavy, but I use it for work, not for trudging around to class. It's a great laptop :)

Had one. Don't bother playing games while on battery. That was the only real reason I wanted one, so I could kill some time in Dungeon Siege or whatever while commuting to NYC.

There's tons of disgruntled 8200 owners (including me before I sold the POS) on delltalk's forums.

There's hundreds of posts on this, and Dell has been scratching their heads for months now. Look elsewhere.

I'd cancel that order and say "Dude, I'm getting a Sony."

I got mine this week, sweet machine. The only things I would change is add USB 2.0 and make the ultrasharp screens in lower rez than 1600X1200, I'm currently using the 1400 screen and it is the right size, but the viewing angles are too slim.

I'm very happy with it so far though, I haven't experienced any heat issues and the stepspeed issue is fixed with a "speedswitch xp"
