Most (if not all) DSL ISPs advertise/sell specific speed packages (combinations of upload and download speeds)...common ones are
640kbps down/90kbps up, 1.5mbps down/384kbps up. Cable users don't have this since it's not limited, and it often varies, so just figure out what the fastest you can download is, then multiply by 8 (from KB - kilobyes, to kb - kilobits).

I'm not on broadband, I'm on something called.. what was that... oh yeah, Road Runner, whatever that means. ;)

I'm on RoadRunner here in NC. Speeds have been atrocious lately :| Specs are 1.5Mbps down/384k up. We have been told things will be getting better soon, as they added a DS3 downstream in Charlotte and also said they will be adding an OC-3 sometime soon as well.

I'll believe it when I see it......:Q

home: 1Mbps download/128Kbps upload DSL (downloads around 120KB/sec)
at work: T1 :D :D :p

512/128 kbps at home but I think they will upgrade it to 2/0,512Mbps around x-mas

2- DS1's at work, with 2 more coming in the next few months


AT&amp;T @Home at home, d/l's run 2-5mbps(d/l accelerator), uploads run about 220-240kbps

Cable Ethernet no @home or RR just ethernet through my cable. No modem just a cat 5 from my hubs uplink to a jack on the outside of my house. 1.3mbits up and down

Dang you people have alot of fast connections!! Any one got a hook up to influcnce people to bring either DSL or cable to my area? hehe
