5 -- Three pairs of identical clarks (one old ratty pair for work / rainy days, one normal pair for every day, and one 'new' pair for semi-formal occassions, one pair of sneakers for the gym, and a pair of 'dress shoes' for times when I have actually dress well.

Edit-- Basically, I just like the clarks, and I don't like to retire them, so they soldier on whenever I don't need to wear anything else.
