How many of you

or aren't really interested in them?

I have a k6-2 450 🙂, but I have an apple laptop for school now. I don't play video games at all. I just surf the net.

I play tetrinet if that counts. Other than that the PC is good for my porn surfing and checking email.

I used to care, and keep myself updated with all of the new stuff - now I could really give a flying fsck.

I lost interest for the most part. mips64emul made it a bit more interesting, but that's over since it doesn't seem to emulate a disk properly or in a way OpenBSD/SGI recognizes it. 😕

they used to be my life. everything i did was somewhat related to computers.

now they are strictly a tool to use. my life consists of MANY other things OFF the computer 😉

I know about hardware and such, but know jack aout how a computer is made, or how to code. It shows that you can truly never know it all.

<sarcasm>What is this computer you speak of? </sarcasm>

My interest wanes in three month or so increments. Usually when I have school and work breaks it intensifies, then I can sometimes go <shock>days</shock> without using one.

I use to pay attention to the Intel vs AMD and other fanboy wars. Now, only time I think about hardware is when I am having problems or when something significantly faster is available at the price I am willing to pay.

my technolust isn't necessarily waning, but I find that the older I get, the less I feel the need to keep my computer on the bleeding edge.

at my height, I was doing major upgrades every 3 months... now, the last major upgrade I did was over a year ago, to get my specs up to be able to play FFXI. and unless I happen to come into some money, my next major upgrade probably won't be until next fall (making it almost 2 years without a major upgrade)

... by major, I mean new mobo or cpu, an extra gig of ram, new high-end case, etc.

Sam here. I think it's because I work with hardware now. Before this job, I was testing video games and became really close to losing my interest in that too. I got to stop finding work that revolves around my hobbies.

my interests towards computers has definetly changed over the past few years...

i used to play games a lot and constantly would upgrade my computer and build new ones from scratch.

now that i program for a living, i've kind of phased computers out of being a hobby and almost never even touch one outside of work.

i'm the same way as everyone else. i read pc magazines constantly and always upgraded and tinkered around with overclocking. thought i was pretty good at keeping up with the latest and greatest.

i never thought i'd say it, but after xbox, i became a console fanboy. now the pc is there to do the minimum.

What's a K6-2?

I know way to much. I still build them for friends but have had to curtail my interests due to that pesky job of mine!
