How many of you, who are not self-employed, get to work from home at times?

As a software engineer I can work pretty much anywhere, given that I have a broadband connection and my laptops. I work from home usually at last once a week, and I usually get more done due to less distractions, etc. It's much more peaceful, as I can relax on my couch with my laptop, play any music I like, open all my windows on a nice day, and watch my cats sleep :)

Anyone else have this luxury? Having worked at very large corporations in the past, I consider myself lucky to have this luxury as it would never have been possible when working at the larger companies.

Yesterday I got the whole shop crew down to the mining quarry after lunch, and we went target shooting. We shot around 200 50 cal rounds, 500+ 308 rounds, two thousand 7.62X39, and a few 1k cases of 223 and 9mm. Then we opened up with a couple of ground burst simulators. We shot up two old refrigerators, 3 TV's, 1 engine block, 2 lawnmowers, and a junk car that cost us $30 to get moved there and back to the junkyard on a flat bed trailer.

We talked about work for 2 min, so that counts as working. Is that better than working at home? :D

I do occasionally, usually when I am on call. I don't do much though, just play vids or read. I can't access most of the programs I use from home (and I like it that way...gives me a good excuse) so all I do is shoot people email making them do the work.

I use to b/c I am a software developer but my whorish co-workers (the software users) got jealous and complained to my boss' boss since they couldn't do the same. Now no more fun for me.

I'm a web developer and get to work at home whenever I want. Usually do it 2-3 days a week. With my VPN and pcAnywhere I have access to just about everything but the snacks in the kitchen.

I can work from home, but what I can do is limited by corporate security.

Basically I'm stuck to IP applications etc. As our Servers etc. are still IPX that means no network files or apps.

I usually only work from home when my son is sick, becuase it saves my wife a vacation or sick day which she already has precious few of.

Occasionally. But it's limited because of the management/interaction I need to get my job done sometimes. My boss is cool with it as long as I don't abuse the privilege.
