I've got a master's in architectural history... then again, I don't work in the field. It was a fun time, though.

I was in art school for a year doing animation. I hated it. Now I'm in engineering. So far so good.

I got a Biology and Music degree in college.... nice mix huh...

Kind of funny, everyone asks me, since I'm in medical school, "Oh, so you're going to sing to your patients as you do surgery?" or "Oh, so you're going to carry around a guitar and plunk while you're talking to patients?"

Or something like that. It's damn funny.

I'm a Zoology major. I work in a Bio lab right now but would like to get into a more environmental position in the near future.

IUP, a rather unremarkable state school. It didn't have much of a program so I ended up working in a road house most of the way through college. Aside from the occasional acting and what not.

Your profile says you're in Glendale. I guess you're film oriented mostly? We just did the Cry Baby show that was at La Jolla. Top notch regional as far as theatre goes, sky's the limit if you can get on the bill there I'd imagine. Live theater and film are worlds apart though, so perhaps it's not your thing.

So what do you usually go for? Have you been in any productions recently? Have you been at it for a while?

My BA, MA, and soon PhD are all in music. BA is in music performance, MA and PhD will be in critical studies. I'm also a tech nerd, as I do a lot with computer music (mostly improvisatory in nature) and my scholarly work focuses on how digital media and communications technology affect the way people consume, produce, identify with and organize around music.

I am in Glendale and my degree is in Theatre but...ya know..LA...pfft, isn't much for theatre. I've been trying to break into commercial work to become SAG and then try and move on to Film and/or television. Unfortunately, that first item has really become a sticking point. I have a fantastic agent and all, it's just that things aren't...clicking :(

I love theatre, that's where my heart is really and I'm over at Second City LA a couple of times a week performing or in class but as a means of supporting oneself, that's not where the bucks are, sad to say.

La Jolla playhouse IS top notch regional and I might be wrong but I think they won a regional Tony some years back.

La Jolla won the Tony for Jersey Boys in 2006. I was in their production of Mother Courage, which was also a top notch production. Those guys know their theater.

What were you involved with? The then La Jolla TD is now at our company. Which may be 1 degree of Anandtech separation, heh.

Where do I fit in?

B.A. in History
M.A. in History with specialization in Native American Cultures & Religion
BS in Political Science
BS in Geography

Have been working in the IT field since 1995 when I was working as the web designer for a NSF project, then became the Novell Admin for the math department where I was going to college, then came to my current employer where I started off doing desktop support, then server support, now I'm a manager in IT.

I have no artistic abilites....well except musically I guess. Can play just about any brass instrument you hand me. Also play guitar. Can't even draw a stick figure though.

Did have sex with a professor of theater when I was in college. Does that count?

I write poetry and short stories, and perform at open mics. I work in the veterinary field to pay the bills, and it's rewarding. But the ultimate goal of course is the great american novel. (If I can quit wasting my time on OT, that is...)

I was one of two onstage musicians, with a couple of lines to boot!

Is that Des McAnuff you're talking about? I only met him once, but he seemed to be a great guy.

Just wondering if Computer Graphics and Animation should be an Art Degree or an IT Degree. At our community college it is an Art Degree. It requires some art classes like drawing and painting and history of Art. So it is like Half Art and half IT.
