Qualifier: You're also not some crazy person or some kind of anti-corporate-something-something and that's why you didn't get it.

I don't have it and never did outside of living with the parents. The reason is simply because I don't really have much interest in TV programming. I can get virtually any show online if I do have an interest. There's only 1 TV show that I watch currently (That I can think of off the top of my head), but that's only because I just want it to end already. (It's one of those things where you watch just because you've been watching it for so long...)

Anyway... Oh, I guess I watched The Walking Dead relatively recently (whenever the last season ended?). God, that was terrible too. I hated it.

Anyway, anyone else? Poll is on the way. EDIT: Poll should say, "Did you EVER have cable/tv-sub..." Blargh.

i used to have cable when I had roomates, but after I bought my own place I dropped it. now i have:

- broadcast channels via QAM Cable
- Hulu Plus via friends account
- Netflix via shared account
- Slingbox at parents house so I can watch live sports

I got a ladder and the tool and removed my filter, so I have free TV, not all channels but more channels than I can watch. Actually to be quite honest I don't watch any TV, but the roommates like it.

I did not get a TV till like 2 years after I moved out. I had went over budget with some renovations so I wanted to pay that off first. I eventually got a TV, but only got cable maybe a year later. Had it for maybe 2 years at most, and canceled not that long ago. I don't watch enough TV to justify it. I sort of miss it, but not more than that. I can compromise via torrents and such.

We are getting fibre to the home service here soon (I'm so excited!) and there is also TV service through it, so I'll probably take it as it wont be that much more expensive with a bundle and I work for the company so I'll get a discount. The quality will also be better than cable. Cable here is bad, it pixelates all the time, freezes etc.

The tv picture is nice on my cable but like you I'd rather use the pc for the source. As long as I would use my 40" Samsung hd tv as the monitor and have hd and standard picture. But I'm still working out a few details like for example my tv model is not on Amazon's list of hdtvs to get their hd streaming. I may just get something else on their list like a tivo style device and/or other tv when I get around to it.

Or sign up for Netflix again for their hd movies. Last time I was with them they didn't require any extra device for hd. But still debating about the $8/mth. Right now it seems easier to have hd with cable. Uverse in my case.

I have to agree about TWD. That show sucks and I don't care to watch the next season at all. You might enjoy the show Les Revenants though. Its a French surrealist zombie drama.

I haven't owned a TV since 2007.
