We still do laundry and dishes (aka load the dishwasher), but we never touch anything else. Twice a month the place gets cleaned, $75 a person per month to never have to scrub, mop, vacuum, or generally worry about any of it.

Money well spent.

Same for us, except the frequency and dollar amount is slightly different.

Yes we divide our responsibilities... she cooks & do laundry, and I clean, vaccum and do the dishes

i know that when we had a cleaning lady... she would come twice a month and do a very thorough cleaning.
We kept things up betwen those cleanings though. :)
I am strongly thinking about getting someone again. It is the best thing to come home and have your house spotless!

Well one of my wives cooks, 3 of them clean, 1 of them does laundry, 1 washes my car, 1 does gardening outside and the other 7- well lets just say there's 1 for every night of the week.

The extent of what I do at home is mostly outside of the house. I do cook here and there though, but no laundry, vaccuum, etc..

I love to vaccuum and dust...I'm a bit of a neat freak, so it's more an obsessive compulsion to clean than anything else (I get very tense in a dirty space...), wife does the laundry almost exclusively since she's home, I do all the outdoor stuff...so yeah, I clean.

Oh hell yeah! Our housekeeper is a local college girl. We pay her $10/hr and she works every Monday and Thursday for one, usually two hours.

That would be me. I hate doing house work. However, my place is immaculate because my wife does most of the cleaning (99%), AND I clean up after myself. We have no kids, and I'm also not a messy guy, so I try to at least not have much to clean up after. I prefer paper plates and paper cups so there are no dished to clean up, and I also take out the trash. Well my wife rounds up the trash and I take it to the curb. :)

My mom taught me how to keep house when I was a boy. I was not clueless when I moved out at 18, I could grocery shop, cook and take care of myself.
I knew a lot of guys who were essentially helpless when they moved out and ordered pizza every night.

In my marriage I've always considered those tasks our mutual responsibility and do not feel labor is divided, but shared.

That's what I'm talking about! Did I mention I hate cooking?

I'm the pragmatic one when it comes to laundry.

Wife sees me pour detergent from the giant Sam's size Tide bottle - "No honey, don't use that. I just bought this little teeny bottle of detergent that has the Febreeze smell and I want to use that from now on."

Me - "Then why the hell do we have a giant bottle of detergent sitting on the shelf doing nothing but wasting money and taking up space?"

Wife - "It doesn't smell as nice as the Febreeze."

Me - slaps forehead

With 2 kids in the house, and another on the way, 2 dogs, 2 cats, I have to vacuum 2x a week. How can you get by with only having thorough cleaning 2x a month?

I cook, do the dishes, clean floor, launder cloth (not to be confused with money laundering).

P.S. What is a "Man Card"?

I'm not quite married, but have been living with my fiance for about 6 months already. Married in a few more months.

I cook, clean, do laundry, dishes, etc. We usually share the burden, so it's probably 50/50.

Every weekend I vacuum the whole house, do some laundry (mostly basic items and my stuff, since wife's clothes need all these wacky washing regimes), put misplaced items back in their place, and generally clean up the mess. I also mop up the kitchen floors. My wife takes care of the kitchen itself, and the dishes - she is picky about how they are washed, yada-yada.

I don't do squat!
My wife has never worked outside the home, so I let her do it all, even mowing the yard.
I've worked 60+ hours a week for over 25 years while she has never even had to hear an alarm clock.
I live in an apartment during the week, I pay a maid service to come in once a month to do major cleaning, while I wash my own dishes, empty the trash, etc.
