How many of you have HDTV?

I have a Samsung 23" LCD HDTV in my room for console gaming and movie viewing. It's connected to my computer, so I don't even have to burn movies and videos to DVDs anymore. I got a HD box from Comcast, but can't seem to figure out how to view HD programming. :mad;

I have THIS TV and THIS home theater with THIS rack. It's AWESOME 😀

I'll have to take some pics. I'd recommend that rack to anyone with a flat screen that doesn't want to booger up their walls.

Wow. Even though this is a tech forum, the results are kind of surprising. I didn't know such a high percentage of people here had HDTVs. Good poll.

You kidding? I'd watch ANYTHING in HD. I've had it for a few months now and it's just not wearing off. HDNet rocks- Friday nights they have this show with some doofus that wanders around the country looking at odd things. Last week he was a Pron Star Kareokee! HD BEWBIES GALORE!!! 😀

I didn't realize so many had HDTVs. I suppose this is slightly biased because this is a tech forum, but wow! I'll had an option for those who already have HDTVs. I guess alot here are anticipating/already have 360s and PS3. Interesting.

I couldn't afford one now, but I rarely watch TV anyway, so I would find it hard to justify buying one.

Maybe once HD-DVD/blueray becomes mainstream I will have more of an incentive.

I have a new 56" Samsung DLP and a DVHS D-Theater deck. The PQ really blows me away. D-Theater tapes have an even higher bitrate than broadcast HDTV, ~24mbps.

I live in Pocatello, ID, aka nowhwere. The only local channel that is broadcast is HD is NBC and PBS. The local cable company only carries a few HD channels, TNT and HBO. It's not worth it to own a HDTV yet.

Do you guys ever feel you watch too much boob tube? How many hours do you think you watch TV a week? I personally always feel like I'm wasting my time when I do that. 😕 It's why I watch a new movie about once every month or two.

just picked up an infocus in76 since the NEC plasma I was looking at was going to cost me 5 grand shipped to my home.

this should tie me over till 1080 plasmas come down in price although having a 100" screen puts a huge smile on my face and can't believe I was going to pay 5 grand for only 50"

Unless you work or study 18 hours a day, you're just "wasting" your time on something else 🙂

My TV watching (almost all DVDs now) is around 10 hours a week, though close to zero this week since I spent 20 hours playing Oblvion 🙂

I have a 36" XBR400 that I got back in late 2000 or so. I don't imagine myself getting HDTV, given that I only use this thing to watch dvd's anyway (I do not get cable or satellite tv, and I do not watch tv at all.)

I have two HDTVs in the house. I want to get one for my son's room but there isnt much childrens programing in HD (atleast not on Comcast).

HDTV rocks.

Don't have a tv. Once I graduate I *might* buy a 1080p tv and use it as a monitor. My laptop is sufficient now for dvds, though.

50" Panasonic 50px50u Plasma. 2005 mdl

Here are couple pics if my setup. Remember, the couch is 10' wide and is a "dual recliner" 😉 Just in case it all looks small from my cheapy camera. I'm still not done with painting the walls, so the sheathing on the rear wires is at a standstill untill then 🙂

Right now during school (18 credits) I work about 45 hours/week doing two jobs. During my freetime, I like to learn things so I've taken up photography about 3 years ago and plan to start taking piano lessons and buy a nice Yamaha or Casio keyboard (something under $1,000) this summer. I guess relaxing just isn't my cup of tea! 😛

I'm willing to be the 35% is made entirely up of the "Still LIve at Home/No Money since i'm in college" poster and the occasional I hate TV poster.
