Sony Personal Entertainment Display, 0 dead pixels that I've noticed in 1.5 years of usage. I think i may have a dead sub but I dont go looking for it and it doesnt bother me:)

Samsung 172T, I've never found a dead pixel in over a year of use. I keep brushing dust specks to see if they're actually pixels.

Hitachi cml174 17"

At first I didnt think there were any dead pixels, but after running that calibration thing mentioned above, I think I might have found one. It is in the lower right hand corner, and is only visible if you look really closely at it.

Just curious but how are fast paced games on Samsung 19 inch models. I have heard everything from they are great to they have huge ghosting. However I suspect critics of PVA are refering to models that do not use Samsungs Dynamic Capacitance Compensation technology.

I game all the time on my 192t and don't regret making my 22" and 21" CRTs secondary monitors for a second.

Dell Ultrasharp 2001FP - 1 blue subpixels off
pretty surprisingly good, but I don't like the monitor (the so-called "graininess" issue really bugs me). going to try to return it and buy a samsung 213t

Have 0 ghosting issues, would like an LCD that scales better (some games just don't give you the option of 1280x1024 or with my R9800XT, some games and that card on DVI don't offer 1280X1024).

Very curious of the Dell 21" on how well it scales...

I've been lucky. No dead pixels on my 1901FP, IBM R40, IBM X20 or IBM T41p.

Even my old Gateway and Fujitsu lappies never had a dead pixel.

The only bummer is the LCDs on my X20 and R40 ghost quite a bit in comparison to my 1901FP. :(

No ghosting problems here either. I do have 1 dead pix though... well it's actually stuck green so you can only see it on dark backgrounds... and only from a foot or 2 away. Still great for watching DVD's or doing any type of gaming/work. I've went high quality LCD and won't ever look back at CRT.

Also remember that Samsung makes several models in each size. You want the one that has DVI/analogue dual input (usually the T series)... they also have faster response (25ms in my case).

191T - no dead/stuck pixels
191T - no dead/stuck pixels
Toshiba 5205-S705 - no dead/stuck pixels
Emachines m6805 - no dead/stuck pixels

Ghosting issues on the samsungs? None. Is there some ghosting? Undoubtedly there is. Did I notice after the first week of having the monitors? Nope. I consider myself fairly competitive when it comes to online FPS---if ghosting was hampering my performance, I'd be the first to start ranting about it.

I seem to have great luck in dead pixel arena, hope it holds true for the new powerbook. :)

My HP 2025 has two dead pixels. the funy thing is tha on the normal windows desktop I can creally see one with a green'ish color and the other with a grey'ish, but playing a movie or a game I don't see them there. Don't ask me why, but I can't really see them.

New to the LCD market here, but at my local OD, there's a sansumg 170MP display model selling for 400+, but I noticed that in the middle of the screen, there's a white speck (dead pixel?) that wont go away. what i'd like to know is what's samsung's warranty policies regarding lcd monitors and should i buy that monitor and return it samsung for a new one?

My Cornea has a few stuck pixels. Every manufacturer has a different policy check their suppot website. It is usually 4-12 dead ones before they replace.

Dunno why, or how, but its just dead.

Two years ago I ordered a "top-of-the-line" NEC 19" CRT. It was shipped to me, and had a couple pixel defects too. So CRT can have dead pixels, although it is not as common. I sent it back and ordered a Sony G410 19", that has no dead pixels.

Even one dead pixel is one too many for me. Aperture Grille damper wires are less noticeable for me then a dead pixel! This is one reason I'm sticking with CRT for now.

I have bought
1 Eizo 17"
1 Philips 17"
2 Philips 15"
3 NEC 15"
1 HP 15"
Only 1 of the NEC 15" has 1 dead pixel.

Viewsonic in China provides zero dead pixel policy for VA series only.
